Christy Thodey
BSc (Paramed.), GCert OccMed H&S, GCert Crit.Care
Christy Thodey is a highly experienced health consultant and Registered Paramedic who has worked extensively across industrial, occupational, and remote healthcare sectors in Australia and internationally.
Since founding, developing, and successfully exiting Compass Health, she has continued to provide expert consulting services to global organisations within mining, oil and gas, engineering, and health education institutions.
In addition to her consulting roles, Christy maintains active clinical practice, regularly working both offshore and on-road as a Paramedic, and has flown more than 50 hours as rescue crew for the Westpac Surf Life Saving Helicopter service in the South West of Western Australia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Paramedical Science, an Advanced Diploma in Health Science, and postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Medicine, Health and Safety, Critical Care Paramedicine, and is completing a postgraduate qualification in Aeromedical Retrieval. Christy is also a qualified Lead Auditor in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and holds an internationally recognised Quality Auditing certification.
Christy brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and health systems leadership. Her early career included experience in the cardiology department of a major teaching hospital and years of frontline service as a Paramedic in metropolitan, rural and remote locations. She then has since held senior management positions, consulted across diverse environments, and led audits and quality improvement projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Borneo, and France.
Christy is solution-focused and driven by a passion for high-quality pre-hospital care. She applies a systematic and compliance-driven approach to health service delivery and continues to prioritise her own clinical currency through active, hands-on involvement in the field.
